Tutoring Services and Experience
I have spent most of the last seven years as a foreign English teacher. In this field I’ve been responsible for planning syllabuses, usually without the aid of textbooks, placing students according to fluency, motivating them, directing them, and evaluating their progress. I have also been explicitly responsible for introducing “Western culture” to my students, breaking down cultural barriers, and ensuring their first interactions with a foreigner are encouraging and amicable. Living and working in a foreign culture has required a range of skills and attributes not otherwise necessary. I have also co-written a middle school English textbook for Chinese students.
