Tutoring Services and Experience
I offer a range of in-person (Fri-Sun) and online (Mon-Wed) tutoring services (biobff.com) aimed at teaching high school and introductory (100-level) university Biology courses.
I hold a Joint Honours in Biology and Environmental Studies (H.B.E.S.) from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. I also hold a Masters (M.Sc.) in Plant Biology from the University of Alberta (Alberta, Canada). I am currently designated as a Professional Biologist (P. Biol.) with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB).
I've developed a comprehensive understanding of Biology through my education and career. My undergraduate studies emphasized larger perspectives of ecology, plant physiology, field biology, taxonomy, etc., while my graduate research was focused on plant developmental biology, molecular biology, genetics, and microbiology. My current work involves ecological restoration, forestry, and land reclamation. In my experience it is rare to find Biologists who are trained both the field- and laboratory-based disciplines of Biology, and I consider this to be a strength of my approach to teaching.
