Tutoring Services and Experience
A graduate of the Juilliard School, Stewart currently freelances on jazz vibraphone, drum set and percussion. He has performed musical theatre at Royal York’s Imperial Room, the Stratford Festival, and the O'Keefe/Hummingbird Centre, and has played with, among other organizations, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Ballet of Canada and the Canadian Opera Company.
Stewart has many years of private teaching experience and has conducted clinics in numerous Toronto area schools and music camps. He is currently a member of the private teaching staff at Crescent School in Toronto where he teaches drums, percussion, vibraphone and jazz piano.
Drum students study rudiments, rock, jazz and Latin drumming. Stewart’s lessons are always musical experiences, designed to develop a well-rounded musician who incorporates a solid technique and good reading skills to reach a musical end.
