Tutoring Services and Experience
My practicum was in a grade 6/7 class in the West End where I had a variety of learning needs in my classroom. As well, I also had the opportunity to teach English for a month in an elementary school in Xi’an, China during my teacher education program. This has given me a special insight into the needs of English language learners. Over the years I have worked with children aged 5 months-18 years and thus have a thorough understanding of the developmental needs of each age group.

Education is what allows us to explore what we are curious about and create opportunities for our future. I firmly believe that all students should be given the skills necessary to show what they know in an educational setting. Often, anxiety overrules our ability to break an activity down into manageable steps and plan ahead. A successful tutor, in my opinion, helps students develop these skills and feel successful as a learner. I feel I can be a great asset to students who are challenged by one or more aspect of their schooling.
