Hello! My name is Patricia and I am the tutor you are looking for. My experience began in high school when I was chosen by my teachers to tutor other students as a senior scholar; upon graduating, I continued to tutor privately. I now have over seven years experience tutoring primarily English and ESL.

Teaching English has been very rewarding. Both my parents immigrated to Canada, so I know the importance of strong speaking, writing and presentation skills to succeed in a foreign country. My passion for ESL led me to gain TESOL certification and took me to Poland, where I taught over the summer as an instructor of English-- I loved the experience! When I returned I began volunteering with the national literacy organization Frontier College.

During my university studies (BA, and Bachelor of Education), I worked part-time at a private school for Korean students. Upon graduating, I relocated from Toronto to Edmonton to teach high school. I love it here.

Throughout my now 8 years of teaching/tutoring experience, I have always asked myself: How can we make English both easier to understand and more difficult to prepare students for university and career?

Let me to help your child (or even you)love reading, improve their essay writing, and feel confident presenting in English. Ask me about my "Intense English" program which includes grammar, vocabulary (from the Greek & Latin roots/SAT) and writing tips in each lesson with a quiz per week.
